Language week in September


Chinese Language Week

Come along to Tauranga Library during Chinese Language Week to celebrate with us and with members of the Bay of Plenty Chinese Culture Society!

Toddler Time

Join members of Tauranga’s Chinese community to learn some songs, stories and dances from China.

Thursday 27 September, 10:30am at Tauranga Library

Shu Fa – Chinese Calligraphy

Come and try your hand at Shu Fa (Chinese Calligraphy). This drop-in session is suitable for adults and children of all ages. Come any time between 10 and 11:30am.

Lion Dance – Chinese Dance Group

Enjoy the captivating performance of the Lion Dance group while relaxing in the festive atmosphere of Our Place. 

Saturday 29 September, 12noon at Our Place (next to Tauranga Library)

Jian Zhi – Chinese Cut Paper Art

Learn the traditional art of Jian Zhi and make a paper and cord creation to take home. This drop-in session is suitable for adults and children of all ages. Come any time between 1:30 and 3pm.
