Genealogy events

Tauranga City libraries offer genealogy classes and events throughout the year. August is Family History Month at Tauranga City libraries. Be on the lookout for our programmes closer to the date.

Highlights include: 

  • A Night of History the annual library lock-in
  • Lest We Forget an introduction to recording oral history
  • The Speaker Series a collection of lunchtime talks from some of Tauranga’s most expert researchers.

Genealogy Support Group at Greerton library

Learn to use family history resources at our genealogy support group, with guidance from our genealogy experts. Meetings consist of a brief demonstration, followed by plenty of time to do your own research assisted by experienced genealogists.
