Once you finish reading your eBook you can return it. This will free up your loans and allow you to borrow another eBook.

If there are no reserves on the title you are reading, then you can renew your eBook for another two weeks.

What can I do if the title I want to borrow is checked out to someone else?

If the eBook you want to read is checked out to someone else, you can place a reserve. BorrowBox will send you an email to let you know when it is available for you to download.

Do I need to do anything to return my eBook?

eBooks are deleted automatically once they expire on your mobile device or computer.

Can I use my Kindle to read Tauranga City library eBooks?

Unfortunately, no. The Kindle eReader from Amazon is not compatible with our library eBook collection.

Can I keep my borrowing history if I change my library card number?

The BorrowBox app remembers the items you borrowed when you were signed in using your library card. If you change your library card, open the app, go to the Account Details screen and touch reset. You can then sign in with your new card details. If it’s important to you to retain your previous history, contact us and tell us your name, old library card number and your new library card number. We will arrange to have your accounts connected so you can see your complete borrowing history.
