Dance Fitness: Moove & Groove

After-work dance fun for everyone!

Are you tired, tense, needing to shake things off of your mind and have some fun? Whether you are a rockstar on the dancefloor or a complete beginner, our staff will show you the Zumba-related moves that everyone can do. Once you are all sweaty and happy, we will finish with a nice stretch so that you can go home nice and relaxed.

Calling all wannabe librarians—you will love this opportunity to boldly go into staff-only areas and follow the journey of a library book from purchase to bookshelf. You will have a chance to meet staff members in a variety of roles, practice your book-shelving skills, meet our robots and make yourself a badge, all before enjoying a hot chocolate and a biscuit!

The tour will start at the Grey Street entrance to He Puna Manawa. Please be on time as it will be difficult for you to find the tour after it begins.

Family History Talks

Learn how to reveal skeletons and break down brick walls!

Join us for a day of family history discovery with our expert genealogy guides:

  • Michelle Patient will show us how to dig for ancestors using some tips and tricks on how to hone those research skills.
  • Morag Hughson will provide an overview of how to get started in your family history journey.
  • Emerson Vandy will talk to us about the National Library of New Zealand’s Papers Past.

Lunch break will be around 12:15-1pm, BYO lunch. Tea and coffee provided.
