Tauranga City Libraries offers a number of activities over the school holidays. 

Create a Custom Boardgame

For ages 11-18
Use one of our templates and get creative with our craft supplies to create an awesome board game to take home and play with your friends or family!

Pet Rocks (Drop-in)

Re-visit the 1970’s by popping in to the library to make your very own little friend. Paint, decorate, and give it a name. Groovy!

Stuffed Toy Sleepover

All ages/for the whole family
Bring a soft toy to snuggle down and enjoy a story with, then create a neat name tag for your toy to wear. Kiss your softie goodnight and leave them at the library for their sleepover! Collect them from 12.30 the following day to see what mischief they got up to while they were supposed to be sleeping!

Rainbow Storytime

Join drag queens Erika & CoCo Flash as they read stories around the themes of inclusivity, anti-bullying and embracing people of different cultural backgrounds. The session includes songs and action dances.

Hour of Code – Junior Edition

For ages 5-8
Are you a keen gamer? How about having a go at programming your own game using iPads! We will explore the basics of Scratch Jnr and make our own maze race game.

Teen Writers Group

For ages 13-18

Living Library: An Evening with Erika and Coco Flash

For ages 14+Come along to this evening event and learn what drag queens Erika and CoCo Flash do to encourage positivity and inclusiveness in the community. Teens, parents, and adults will have the opportunity to ask any questions around drag and LGBT issues. A short drag show will be included time permitting.
