September/October 2020 School Holiday Activities

Come on down to your local library for some school holiday fun. All sessions require bookings with the exception of Classic Cup & Ball. 

Please note, sessions marked with * may be cancelled if we are in COVID Alert Level 2 on the day. If cancellation occurs, all booked participants will be notified by email. 
 

Nature Fairies and Naughty Pirates

Make either a fairy crown and wand or a pirate hat and telescope. Find out what happens when you mix fairy dust with pirate Rum-o.

Registration required. For children aged 3-6 years old. A parent or caregiver must supervise child and some children will require adult help.

Puzzling Pop-Up Books

Delve into the mysteries of pop-up books, learn some cool techniques and make some pages for your own pop-up book.

Registration required. For children aged 7-10 years old. A parent or caregiver must supervise child.

Wall Art

Design your own woven wall art or hanging mobile to decorate your bedroom!

Registration required. This activity is suitable for young people of all ages. Younger children will need adult assistance. A parent or caregiver must supervise children.

Perfect Plates

Make a special decorative plate to take home using air-dry clay and an assortment of nature items to add interesting textures.

Registration required. This activity is suitable for young people of all ages. Younger children will need adult assistance. A parent or caregiver must supervise children.

Classic Cup & Ball Game

Have hours of fun with just a cup, ball and string as you put them all together and create yourself a brand-new game.

This is a drop-in session, come any time during the session time to take part in this short activity. This activity is suitable for all ages. A parent or caregiver must supervise children and are welcome to take part.

LEGO Fun

Come and take part in our building challenges using our huge collection of Lego building blocks.

Registration required. Suitable for children aged 4-10 years old. No children under 4 allowed for safety reasons. A parent or caregiver must supervise child and some children will require adult help.

Due to the popularity of building sessions, please only book for one session. Multiple building session bookings may be cancelled.

Keva Building

Put your building hats on and be part of the Keva Building Challenge. Create designs from your imagination or try your hand at a building challenge card. 

Registration required. This activity is suitable for all ages. A parent or caregiver must supervise children and are welcome to take part.

Ozobot Towns

Learn all about our cute little robots, the Ozobots. Work together to create a town and then navigate them around the streets!

Registration required. Suitable for children 5-8 years old. Some children may require adult assistance

Stikbot Movie Making

Calling all budding filmmakers! Get creative with our collection of StikBots and make a stop motion animation using the StikBot Studio app.

Registration required. Suitable for children aged 9-13years old without adult supervision.

*Marvel vs. DC Mega Party

Are your spidey senses tingling? Do you have your bat mobile gassed up and ready to go fight crime?

Come along to our Marvel vs. DC mega party and show your support for your chosen franchise. Come dressed as your favourite comic book character form the Marvel or DC universe and take part in fun challenges. 

Best dressed and spot prizes on the night included.

Registration required. For children aged 4-12 years old.  A parent or caregiver must supervise child.

Sharp Crafts Lino Cutting

Get crafty and create an awesome relief print of your own design, by carving into a lino square and then printing onto artist cotton paper. We will be printing two 10 x 15 cm blocks together on one piece of paper. Please feel free to come up with your design prior to the session (don't forget it will be printed in mirror image). Please wear old clothes as printmaking can get messy.

Registration required. This activity is for youth aged 11+. Younger children who register will have their registration cancelled. Parents are not required to stay for the duration of the session.
