Tech Hour: Coding
Tech Hour: Coding is a great way to be introduced to the world of coding and design. From beginners to advanced coders, come along and create games, animations and more using block programming in Scratch. Work your way through the modules and earn a graduation certificate recognising you as a Scratch Coding Champion.
This is a free programme for children aged between 9-14 years old. Numbers are limited to 12 per library branch, per term.
Tech Hour (Coding) is offered at:
Monday’s from 3.30-4.30pm in the Learning Centre (Level 1)
Friday’s from 3.30-4.30pm in the Library (Heritage Section)
Thursday’s from 3.30-4.30pm in the Learning Centre
Exciting news! In Term 2 we will be offering two additional programmes.
Tech Hour: Junior
Tech Hour: Junior is a fun, hands-on programme for younger kids. They will learn the basics of coding and sequencing using Scratch Junior on iPads. There will also be opportunities for them to code and play with robots.
This is a free programme for children aged between 5-8 years old. Numbers are limited to 6 per term.

Tech Hour: Robots
Tech Hour: Robots is a great way to get designers and creators into coding. These sessions will have a problem-solving focus and children will get a chance to learn about Edison Robots, Ozobots, Spheros, mBots, and circuit design.
This is a free programme for children aged 11years and older. Numbers are limited to 10 per term.

Please note: coding at Tauranga City Libraries has proven to be extremely popular, so we do ask that parents ensure their child attends all sessions.
