Māori Language Month 2022 – Mahuru/September 2022

Learn Te Reo with Tahu

Kia hiwa rā, kia hiwa rā!

Join us for free Te Reo Māori lessons during the month of Mahuru Māori!

This four-part series of evening classes is designed specifically for first-time learners and beginner speakers of Te Reo Māori. Tahu has an extensive background in Matauranga Māori and teaching Te Reo in the tertiary education sector, so join one of the best and let your Reo soar!

Each of these workshops has been tailored to equip learners with a foundational understanding of Te Reo Māori basics. Each session can be attended independently as a stand-alone learning experience, however, to get the most out of the series, it is best to attend all four as a progressive learning programme.

Light refreshments provided. Registrations required.

Kāwhe, Kēmu me te Kōrero

Nau kake mai, nau haere mai ki te Kawhe, kēmu me te kōrero! He reo Māori tāu? Kei te kimi koe I tētahi wahi anō ki te kōrero māori.

Koinei te kauapa tika māu!

Outside of wānanga and marae it can feel difficult to find a safe space to use and speak Te Reo Māori. The library is here for you. Not only do we love to hear Te Reo in the library, but we are celebrating it with Kāwhe, Kēmu me te Kōrero.

Kāwhe, Kēmu me te Kōrero is an initiative aimed to provide learners and proficient speakers of Te Reo with a comfortable environment to share whakaaro, have fun, play games, learn something new and kōrero with each other in Te Reo.

Games include Kahoot, cards, Nuka Reo and many more – all in Te Reo Māori.

So come along, relax, and meet new people who want to expand and use their reo while having fun.

E ngā kakawahanui, e nga manu pikoko ki te reo rangatira, nau mai haere mai ki te whakawhiti kōrero, ki te takaro ngā kēmu māori me te wānanga I ngā kaupapa maha

Tukua to reo kia rere

Hot beverages and biscuits provided.
